Congo Bound!

The day is here. We leave for DRC and will be there until we can bring our children home!

Our flight leaves O'Hare at 6am, so we will be leaving home around 2:15am for the airport.

Our bags are packed and filled to the absolute brim!

Prayer Requests:
"And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."

-Please pray that God's grace abounds in us so that we are prepared to do this good work of caring for and parenting Silas and Mercy.
-For safe travels and protection over us during our stay in Congo. It is common for travelers to get sick, so please pray that God protects us from illness and sustains our strength as we care for our babies.
-For Silas and Mercy as they are permanently placed in our care. Their worlds are forever changing, so we ask you to pray that God gives them the grace to adjust quickly and feel secure with Andy and I.
-For Silas and Mercy's health. That we will be able to assess their needs and use the meds that we are bringing to address minor issues. Also for God to sustain their health until we can get them home to doctor.
-For Elly as she is on vacation with my parents and sister's family this week. So far she's been doing great, and we are very thankful! Pray also for her transition this upcoming weekend into Andy's parents' care.
-For Silas and Mercy's visas to be issued early this week so that we can start the second phase of our wait to bring them home. The sooner they are issued, the sooner we can get home and can have a more accurate timeline of returning.
-For good attitudes despite the lack of comforts that we are used to and for Andy and I to really enjoy these weeks together and with the kids.

Thank you for going to the Father on our behalf! We have been so blessed by the community of friends and family that God has given us. We covet your prayers over the next few weeks!

We will update as often as we are able, depending on the availability of electricity and wi-fi.

God is faithful to finish what He starts. We are so thankful to see this adoption process finish, so that we can begin the good work of parenting these two sweet babies.
