"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the excellencies of Him who called you our of darkness and into His wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9
This one of my all-time favorite verses. The imagery of being taken, by grace through faith, from a place of darkness to light, from despair to hope is beautiful. Peter calls believers here a chosen people and a royal priesthood with the task of declaring the excellencies of God.
While my husband may be a fully employed minister with a task of publicly proclaiming from the pulpit, all believers (myself included) have the job of ministering.
